The SUGA Retreats Yoga & Surf Experience, held at the Costa Rica Yoga Spa, is the perfect way to relax, reset, have fun, and connect back to yourself, a life you love, and to others. Plenty of adventures are to be had, too, if you choose. The retreat is nestled on the mountain of a private ranch in Nosara, Costa Rica. The property looks out on both the Pacific Ocean and the Ostional National Wildlife Park. It’s a perfect convergence of lush mountain jungle and gorgeous ocean proximity at a beautiful resort.
Each day you’ll wake up to a serenade of birds and monkeys in the trees. It’s easy to experience the healing power of nature here. All classes take place in the spectacular open-air studio featuring breathtaking panoramic ocean views and sunsets over the jungle. We’ll enjoy delicious plant-based (mainly) meals prepared from the onsite permaculture garden and local farms. There will be plenty of free time to play, hit the beach, surf, hike, and just chill.

What’s a typical day look like?
- Morning Yoga Flow
- Breakfast at the beautiful, open-air communal table
- Daily trip to the beach for surf lessons or free time

- Free time to lounge at the pool, lay in a hammock, or enjoy a spa treatment
- Late afternoon restorative yoga or breath practices (some classes will be after dinner)

This room has two bunk beds on the main floor. Your door opens to a gorgeous, unobstructed view of the jungle and your own hammock is waiting right outside your door! These bathrooms are nice, clean with plenty of space for individual use.

Danette “Diz” Rivera believes that sincere attention to health and wellbeing , whatever your personal level, lends itself to a much better quality of life. She strives to be a positive influence and a gentle guide. Diz is a personal trainer, a CrossFit L2 Trainer, a Certified Mobility WOD Coach, and a Certified Yoga Instructor with an emphasis in Restorative and Trauma Informed Yoga. She can't wait to lead you through a relaxing, fun, and replenishing week.
Shirley loves empowering people through building strength, pushing through fears and letting go. She understands trusting relationships take time to build and allows for that. She specializes in youth as she was a teen when she started weight training and understands the importance of connecting the mind and body to build confidence that be applied daily. She believes movement should and can be fun and requires an open mind that is willing to try, be challenged and work hard. She looks forward to sharing one of her favorite ways to move with you on retreat.
With over 30 years of experience, Jamie Silber is a highly accomplished coach and athlete. He has spent the majority of his career preparing people of all ages and abilities for anything that may come their way physically, mentally, or emotionally. From completing an Ironman triathlons to standing up on a surfboard for the first time, Jamie goes out of his way to help you become more resilient and confidant.
Jamie is a certified strength and conditioning coach. He is also a certified XPT Instructor, specializing in Water and Land based performance.
