After the long winter and fleeting spring, indulge in a practice of self-care and myofascial release massage. Dani will lead you through mindful morning Vinyasa practices with meditation and afternoons of Slow-flow, Restorative and Self-massage. The afternoon classes will include the use of therapy balls for self-massage to help flush-out stress and toxins in your tissues and flush-in fresh blood and oxygen to your body and mind. Each therapeutics class will focus on a different part of the body so that after the six-day retreat you will leave feeling completely rejuvenated and empowered with the tools you need to continue a practice of self-care.
You will nourish your body with Costa Rica Yoga Spa’s signature locally grown and thoughtfully homemade meals. Each meal will leave you feeling full, satisfied, and never weighed down so that you can fill the rest of your day with a hike in the jungle to visit the monkeys, go on a zip lining adventure or try stand up paddle boarding. Treat yourself to a spa treatment, or just simply lounge by the pool and read a book. The day can be filled with as much or as little as you wish. This is YOUR Therapeutic Yoga Retreat. Let Dani help guide you on a yogadventure of self-discovery and self-care.

Dani is a New York based teacher and Teacher Trainer for YogaWorks. She has been exploring the relationship of body, breath and mind for almost her entire life, which began first as a dancer. Before studying yoga, Dani earned her BFA at The Dance Conservatory of Purchase College, SUNY, and went on to dance professionally in NYC in the Amy Marshall Dance Company. Through the work of Educational Outreach Lecture Demonstrations with the dance company, Dani’s excitement and curiosity for teaching movement and the connection of mind, body, breath was ignited.
Dani holds an E-RYT500 certification through YogaWorks as well as an Advanced Teacher Training certification in Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Injury Awareness/Prevention, Biomechanics/Kinesiology under the teachings of Jason Ray Brown. Dani’s approach to teaching yoga asana is through the lens of understanding anatomy and biomechanics along with an openness and playfulness. This allows her students to feel safe and have permission to explore postures in new ways that work best for their own fabulously unique anatomy. Dani is also certified in Thai Massage as well as YogaTuneUp® which is a fitness therapy format founded by Jill Miller that uses Corrective Exercise, Self Massage, and Yoga to eradicate pain, improve posture, and enhance physical performance. Dani continues to study the relationship with body, breath and mind because it is her passion and mission to help people live better in their bodies.
“Yoga and I are in a very committed relationship. Yoga tests me, challenges me, grows with me, changes with me and has changed me. It brings out my best self. I teach because I know how powerful this practice is, how it has changed my life for the better. I want to offer that to others. To help guide my students in finding a deeper sense of peace and clarity within their physical body and mind that will hopefully translate into all aspects of their lives.” – Dani Z
