Taylor was first introduced to yoga through anxiety and panic attacks. Although she describes the journey as sometimes scary, she is extremely grateful as this discomfort is what led to her greatest passion – Yoga. Through compassion, her goal is to help turn feelings of uncertainty into creativity for others who suffer from life imbalances. When anxious energy is used in a creative way, it leads to authentic self-expression and when we express ourselves truthfully, we find peace. Through the discovery of transforming discomfort into art, Taylor has taught many different styles of yoga. Vinyasa came the most natural. The movement in vinyasa truly embodies the freedom to explore ourselves on a deeper level, through rhythm, connection and breath. Taylor’s love for vinyasa led to trainings with Ann Green and Shiva Rea in Prana Danda, Trance Dance, and Elemental Vinyasa. These are all examples of becoming one with movement and the vibrations of the people and earth around us. She tries her best to express this unity not only through her teachings but also through cultural arts, jewelry, essential oil blends, and reiki. Taylor hopes the elements of her classes leave you not only peaceful but open, connected, grounded, supported and lighthearted. Most of all, she hopes it inspires your energy to change in the direction of authentic self-expression.
As an entrepreneur and business owner, Shelley has had the opportunity to travel and, in her leisure time, experience yoga in many different parts of the world. Yoga has always been a touchstone for her, and has been important in her own quest for mental and physical wellbeing. In December 2017, Shelley completed her Yoga Alliance YTT200 teacher training with Ann Green at Bliss in Barrie, Ontario. GoYoga is Shelley’s offering to the community of Orangeville—a welcoming, nurturing place to come and experience all the benefits a regular yoga practice brings. She believes that the world would be a happier, healthier, and kinder place if everyone came to yoga.
