Although we utilize Iboga as our most powerful tool, it is not our main focus and we only recommend it if you have a calling for it. You are not required to take Iboga to participate in our Optimal Health Protocol. What we specifically focus on is your overall health from each physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspect.
If the Global Nurture Project accepts your application, we will then evaluate you mentally and physically. We inspect the analysis of your health in depth by using our exclusive and unparalleled Optimal Health Protocol. This applied kinesiology based method will allow us to ask your body what it needs in order to assist it in maximizing your health. This extensive approach utilizes thousands of direct influences on your well-being from your environment, nutrition, and modalities of healing, to supplements, forms of exercise, and much more during the time of the reading. This would have sounded farfetched to me eleven years ago when I was left bedridden for two years with an “undiagnosed” chronic illness.
I found my experience with the western medicine world to be very intrusive and counterproductive at best; it completely failed me on every level. I spent a fortune and learned a lot about the fallacies of those kinds of practices. Since then I have been studying nutrition, holistic counseling, and all forms of natural healing modalities for 12 years and I recently developed the Global Nurture Project. I did this with a friend of mine who is a very special naturopathic doctor. She diagnosed me correctly in just five minutes when over $500,000 and over forty western doctors of all titles either misdiagnosed me or tried to give me drugs for depression and fatigue along with more tests. All in all, the problem was simply that I had contracted Ciguatera or “red tide” nerve toxins from surfing. When I read there was no cure for what I had I was in disbelief. I still am in disbelief that there are any illnesses or diseases that have no cure. I believe all illnesses both physical and mental are curable and I have the method to prove it as long as the participant has the drive to be healed and believes in the process.
All-Inclusive Global Nurture Project retreats include:

The Optimal Health Protocol

Pre-Iboga intake and intention setting sessions - These 90 minute sessions discuss the goal and intentions for the retreat and the ceremony to help clients get the most out of the entire process. We discuss where the body/mind has been in the past, where the body/mind is now, and where the client would like to see the body/mind progress to in the future. This session also works to reduce any anxiety that clients may have prior to the ceremony. This also helps to show our clients what they can do to produce the best results during a ceremony and how to process the information portrayed to them
Post-Iboga review sessions: These 90 minute sessions help the client process and review their experiences and to develop a plan of action for moving forward in their day to day life. Topics discussed in this session may cover how to talk to family and friends about their experience (if desired), how to integrate newfound knowledge into the clients’ lives, and how to execute a new identity after a ceremony
Free surf lessons with certified and trained professional surf instructors (Costa Rica only)
One night out to an incredible dinner at one of the best local restaurants (Costa Rica only)

What to Expect
Please note that there are guidelines for each participant to follow in preparation for an Iboga healing retreat. These guidelines make up a protocol we consistently adhere to in order to gather the necessary information for each person as well as the provisions for their safety.
Iboga is the most powerful healing substance known to humankind. This plant medicine has a rich history of use originating in Africa by the Pygmies and then later with the Bwiti . Iboga is a sacred African plant that has profound effect's treating various conditions that pose obstacles to health and well-being. This plant has been used for fertility, ailments, addiction, spiritual growth, and much more around the world.
A typical treatment begins with relaxation/grounding techniques and setting an intention for your healing process. During the treatment you are cared for by a nurturing, professional staff here to help guide you through the transitions keeping you comfortable and safe.
Effects of the Iboga treatment are very different for every individual as we are all unique. Our retreats provide comprehensive and original therapeutic opportunities to support the process. We strive to make this treatment experience as successful as possible through integrative therapies to encourage self exploration, healing, recovery and aftercare. Please note, through my own personal experience I have come to realize that an estimated 1 out of 200 people treated do not report immensely profound experiences and may in fact feel very little effect. However, Iboga works in very mysterious ways and dozens of guests have reported significant benefits of health, spirituality, etc. long after their treatments.
Each person's Iboga experience will be specifically tailored to his or her needs upon consultation here at our facilities. Individualized care is essential for successful treatment, support, and maintenance. The goal of therapy is based upon the individual and meeting them where they are along their path to health. It is critical for those being treated to have active participation in their healing process by setting intentions and committing to lifestyle modifications as necessary to support long-term effects of treatment. The elimination of toxins is the first step to better health. The powerful cleansing you receive both mentally and physically from Iboga will make you feel young, organic, and vibrant once again. Iboga will heal your body faster and more effectively than any other substance on our planet, and make you feel like your original, organic, centered loving self.
Our Treatments are for people seeking relief from physical health issues, mental, and emotional problems. I am an absolute firm believer that there is not one physical ailment that we cannot relieve you of or a spiritual journey you will not benefit from. You will be reset on a molecular level. They call Iboga the plant of truth. This plant is not only natural but supernatural. Soon after you will have what we refer to as the "Iboga glow." The Iboga ceremony can be reflected upon as a thirty hour meditation and cleansing.
We offer very individualized care, support, and maintenance for our guests. We also do our best to make you feel at home. We also love to have fun here and there are always activities going on. You are free to do everything and then again, absolutely nothing if you want as long as you are happy!!!
*Participation in certain activities or modalities may vary with each individual. We also are not claiming Iboga to be the "miracle cure," but a powerful stepping stone to a sustainable and pure health regime*
About your Iboga Healers
Darin McBratney is a futurist, yoga teacher, writer, BMW motorcycle adventure enthusiast, gardener, Iboga grower, counselor, surf instructor, plant healer, and a strong activist for peace in the world. Darin is the owner of the Costa Rica Yoga Spa and has lived in Nosara for 27 years. Darin was an adventurer and traveler from a young age. He began by living in New Zealand, Hawaii, the central coast of California, and Europe. Darin has been studying and growing herbs and plants for years and found that to be one of his strong points. He also realized that he had a calling to heal people through the use of nature’s most powerful plant, Iboga. His daily research has made him incredibly knowledgeable and his pursuit to discover every potential method of plant healing has lead him to the development of the world’s first combination of Iboga and yoga. We refer to it as Iboga Yoga. The Costa Rica Yoga Spa is now well known for this unique and powerful combination. Darin has perfected specialized Iboga soundtracks to ensure guests/clients the most fluid organic healing of their lives.
In 2005 Darin became critically ill during a time that appeared to be the pinnacle of his healthy and happy life. He went through 2 extremely hard years and became very frustrated with western medicine. Such endearments included being prescribed countless varieties of damaging drugs, misdiagnoses, and being sent to hospital after hospital. He came dangerously close to dying twice and all the while was paying a fortune in doctor bills and for obscure tests. This horrific two years instilled in him the path of healing naturally. Finally, through the use of applied kinesiology, Darin was diagnosed correctly in five minutes by Dr. Angelique Kay M.D. in San Luis Obispo, California. She discovered that Darin had Ciguatera which essentially was red tide toxins that entered his body while surfing during a red tide. This intrigued Darin to start researching all natural modalities of healing. Becoming discouraged with western medicine, Darin set a path so others wouldn’t have to suffer…a path to freedom. Darin's interest in applied kinesiology, naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda medicine, iridology, metaphysics, and just about every other form of natural healing modality that is not western medicine, will be implemented at the new healing center. This is located at the Costa Rica Yoga Spa. Darin and his companion Elena are also available for private ceremonies in other areas of Costa Rica and abroad.
Preparation Guide for Iboga Therapy
The following information is very important, please read completely and carefully.
Intention and Awareness Iboga is a powerful herbal substance that may induce profound physical and psychological changes. It has a powerful psychoactive agent with the ability to induce an experience that has the potential to lead to profound life changes in anyone.
Centering and grounding yourself will prepare you to maximize the potential for a deeper transformative and healing experience. Taking the time to center yourself through activities such as writing, walking, meditation, yoga/stretching, or anything that helps to provide personal insight, body awareness, and reflection, is a great way to prepare for the experience. Allowing yourself some personal space and time to reflect on your inner thoughts and emotions will greatly benefit your overall experience and will aid in reintegration.
Pay attention to your expectations. While Iboga therapy can be very effective at healing and facilitating awareness of the deeper personal work is necessary to do over the long term, it is not a “miracle cure.” Expecting Iboga therapy to solve all your problems and fix you may lead to disappointment; think of it rather as a tool to help you heal yourself and as a first step towards your journey of advancing your wellbeing. Empower yourself to look deeply into what is needed in your life so that you may gain the fullest potential from your experience. Take your time to consider your existing state of health and what you may need to do over the long term to maximize your healing process. Dedicate time towards exploring your physical, emotional, and psychological needs. It also is essential to be gentle and patient with yourself by knowing that it takes time to heal.
The transformative nature of the Iboga experience will be most effective if you are dedicated and committed to following through over the long term with the personal insight you receive. Take time to think about what you would like to gain or learn from your experience and set some intentions or perhaps some questions to help guide your way. Seeking out resources and support in your life will greatly enhance your success. The path of healing can be a long road that requires focus and perseverance. Iboga therapy can lead you onto a path to this greater awareness and consciousness. However, it is ultimately up to you to unlock the door to see, experience, and immerse yourself in the deeper meaning and the greater beyond.
Congratulations, you are on your way to new beginnings. You deserve it!!!
In the week before therapy
You should be well rested and hydrated
Take a balanced high quality multivitamin and mineral complex daily (without iron if you are male) plus 500 mgs of magnesium daily (preferably a chelated form such as magnesium citrate or another bio-available form – avoid magnesium oxide, it is not well absorbed by the body) to help balance electrolytes, smooth muscle tissue, and to protect your heart
Eat nutritious, well balanced meals and simple foods; foods such as whole grains, fresh vegetables, and fruit will be beneficial
Avoid greasy, fatty, and processed foods. If you eat meat, please eat only small portions of lean meats or fish. Too many fatty foods can make your liver sluggish. It is through the liver that Iboga is mostly processed
Avoid junk food. Too much sugar (especially pop or soft drinks), too much salt, and too much caffeine (small amounts of green tea are ok if you are caffeine dependent, but try not to drink coffee or too much strong black tea in the days leading up to your Iboga therapy) can be destructive to your body
Avoid artificial sweeteners (Diet sodas, sugar free gums, candy, or the yellow, pink, or blue packets of artificial sweeteners such as “equal,” “splenda,” etc.
Do not eat or drink any grapefruit, quinine (found in tonic water), or bananas. Drink at least 8 tall glasses of pure fresh water (2 liters) per day
Replenish your electrolytes: Coconut water and other isotonic drinks to help restore and balance electrolytes. Please drink some in the days leading up to your Iboga therapy
Do not consume any antipsychotics, antidepressants, or psychoactive substances (such as MDMA or other drugs) for at least 2 weeks prior to the Iboga therapy
If you are taking any prescription or over the counter medication of any kind, (this includes any cold or allergy medication) please advise us at least 2 weeks beforehand as many medications negatively interact with Iboga and must be worked out of the body until they are no longer present in your system. Iboga and western medicine do not mix at all and can be very dangerous
Please consult with your physician about the lowering/ending usage of any medication you may be taking or even dependent upon. If you cannot lower your intake or stop taking these substances, for reasons of safety or personal wellbeing, then you will be advised to not participate in Iboga therapy until it is safe for you to stop taking the medications
Please let us know if you are taking herbs, herbal supplements, vitamins, or other substances of any kind
*If you are a female of child-bearing age, you must ensure that you are not pregnant at the time of your therapy as the impact of Iboga on an embryo or fetus is unknown*
