Sarah Plummer Taylor, MSW, ERYT-200/RYT500, YACEP, has been teaching yoga for more than 6 years, and practicing for more than 15. Frankly put, she credits it for saving her life during a very dark time. It was on her second deployment to Iraq as a US Marine that she felt yoga's healing powers in such a direct, life-altering way, and knew from that point forward that one day she would become a teacher to bring the modality to others, too.
Sarah is now an established leader in the field of resilience building and holistic wellness. As a professor, speaker, trainer, and consultant, she guides students, busy professionals, leaders and top organizations around the world, including the US Department of Defense and FORTUNE500 companies how to find clarity and build stronger, healthier lives.
Most especially, Sarah absolutely loves teaching yoga in a variety of settings – group classes at studios, private therapeutic sessions, at conferences and summits, for service organizations, and of course on retreats! :) She believes that although yoga isn’t always “sunshine and butterflies,” an element of joy is key to practice. She’s been told she has a unique, fresh, and fun teaching style, and aspires to offer modifications and adaptations for any practitioner.
Sarah holds a Master’s in Social Work with a Mental Health concentration from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s from the University of Virginia. Additionally, Sarah is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, is an ERYT200/500hr-RYT registered yoga instructor, and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. She is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Public Health at Charleston Southern University. Her work has been featured on Capitol Hill and in noteworthy news and entertainment outlets like the Katie Couric Show, the New York Times, NPR, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, MSNBC, and others. In addition to speaking, leading workshops, and running a holistic behavioral counseling practice through SEMPER Sarah®, Sarah volunteers extensively.

Lisa has been teaching yoga for about 9 years and been practicing for 16. It has truly made her who she is today. Her journey with yoga began in a Bikram yoga studio in San Francisco in 2000. She loved how it made her feel, that she craved healthy food, that her body felt clean from inside out – not to mention that it was the most physically and mentally challenging thing she had ever done.
When she moved to Santa Cruz 2 years later, she began surfing – something that had been a life-long goal and near the very top of her bucket list. What had been yoga practice in a hot room with lots of sweat and mirrors turned into yoga practice in the waves of the Pacific Ocean. It’s there that she experienced energy like never before and learned how to read energy currents of the ocean, timed just right with my paddling, in order to ride the waves. To this day, for Lisa, surfing is one of life’s most exhilarating yet peaceful things, and the beauty, grace, and challenge she experienced at Pleasure Point, Ocean Beach, Sharks, and other surf spots along the California coast has only ever been matched by her life-long love of snowboarding. It was this calling, almost a primal urge, to be back near the mountains that brought her back to Colorado after 4 years in California, where she has been practicing and teaching yoga since.
To say yoga has transformed Lisa's life would be an understatement. To say it has influenced her would also be understated. It has truly made her who she is today. After graduating from her first teacher training program in 2007, she spent many years honing her practice and trying to find a teacher whom she felt connected to. It wasn’t until 2012 though that she found her current teacher and the philosophy she calls her lineage, Yogarupa Rod Stryker and Sri Vidya. She studies Para Yoga with Yogarupa at least once a year, and brings these trainings into her teachings; they have been paramount in her growth as a teacher and what she offers both in her classes as well as how she carries herself as an individual.
Lisa believes so strongly in the power of yoga that she has made it her career and is working to inspire others to act from their Highest Selves in all they do. She believes it is when we can all act in accordance to our highest values and integrity that the consciousness of humanity will shift for the better.
